Wave of Mutilation

I've not much to add that hasn't been better said elsewhere about the awesome and awful havoc created by the tsunami in December. A friend of ours noted how becoming a parent changes the way you view news stories (which are almost always tragic) involving children. It's true, and the fact that many parents have had their children taken from them is more distressing to me now than it ever was previously.

If, by some chance, you haven't decided whether or not to send your hard-earned for the relief effort--please do so. There are plenty of organizations that are helping, and plenty of places that list those organizations. Heck, there's even a 'blog.
